MILAN, IT. July 22, 2026. Kamal R. Hakim, Founder and Managing Partner of Group FiftyOne, launched his first book, America Doesn't Speak European, at a private evening held at the Grand Hotel et de Milan. The book is a field manual for European founders and executives who are preparing a serious entry into the United States market.
Held by invitation, the event brought together European founders, executives, and operators working on the U.S. market. Each confirmed guest received a signed copy of the book.

The evening was built around a directed conversation between the author and Maria Gaia Fusilli, Deputy Director of ItalyPost, who moderated. ItalyPost covers Italian business, leadership, and the country's most ambitious small and mid-cap companies. The conversation addressed what European companies routinely get wrong about America, and what to do differently. It was followed by an open audience question period, then networking and a book signing.
America Doesn't Speak European is written as a practical manual rather than a business theory book. Its argument begins from a specific position. European companies can succeed in the United States, and the gap is rarely the product. Most already bring the craft, quality, and discipline required to compete. What changes the outcome is understanding how America buys, decides, and extends trust. Relationships start differently. Decisions move faster. Credibility is signaled in ways that are not always visible from outside the market.

The title reflects the book's core position. The United States is not one market. It is fifty distinct legal, tax, and commercial environments, and the differences between them are operational. The book argues that the U.S. market rewards clarity, confidence, and speed over caution, and that the companies which do well are the ones that translate their approach without losing what made them strong to begin with.
"European companies do not fail in the United States because their product is wrong," said Hakim. "They fail because they underestimate what the market asks of them at the start. This book is the manual I would want to hand to a founder on day one."

America Doesn't Speak European carries the subtitle Yes, I'm Generalizing. You're About to as Well. The book is available now.
